Install a player on Amazon Fire TV Stick
This guide explains how to install a player on an Amazon device. It applies to any of our subscriptions, not just one channel package: the installation steps are the same, only the final setup differs from player to player.
It works for the Amazon Fire TV Stick, the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Cube boxes, and for Toshiba, Insignia, JVC and Element televisions in the Fire TV Edition version.
Before you start
- Plug the Fire TV Stick into an HDMI port on your television and into power, select the matching input on the TV (HDMI 1, for example) and connect it to your Wi-Fi.
- Complete your amazon.com account in full — name, address and card details. Without them Amazon will not let you install even a free app and will show an error. If you already got the error: fill in the missing details on the Amazon site, restart the device and carry on.
Step 1. Allow apps from other sources
- From the home screen open Settings.
- Select My Fire TV.
- Turn on Developer Options. If you cannot see that entry, press About seven times until a notice tells you developer mode is on.
- Find Apps from Unknown Sources — it is OFF by default.
- Switch it ON and confirm with the round button on the remote.
Step 2. Install the Downloader app
The player is installed through it. The app is free.
Fire TV Stick, 1st and 2nd generation:
- Press Home on the remote and go to search.
- Type Downloader.
- Press Get / Free to Download and wait for the install to finish.
Fire TV Stick, 3rd generation:
- Press Home and go to Find.
- Open the Appstore.
- Go to All Categories and choose Utilities.
- Find Downloader in the list and press Download.
- When it is installed press Open, then Allow and OK.
Step 3. Install the player
- In Downloader go to the Enter a URL or Search Term field.
- Enter the player address and press Go:
— ClouDDy: entbox.uk/clouddy
— Televizo: no address needed, enter code 474318 (the official code from the developer site televizo.net) - When the device offers to install, press Install, then Open.
- It is best to remove the downloaded file afterwards: Delete, then confirm.
- To keep the player to hand: press Home, open the app list, highlight the player you installed, press Options on the remote and choose Move to Front.
Step 4. Set the player up for your subscription
